BOY OH BOY!

Okay, check out my incredibly cute new nephew, Brigham. Is he not the most precious little guy you've ever seen? I think he needs to meet his auntie Goo soon so she can love on him a bit! I sure think the world of my good brother and sis in-law. Big congrats to them!!!!

SO... I'm redoing my little space of life in the basement. I decided if I'm going to be there for a little while longer I might as well fix it up so I enjoy it. Here is what I made this weekend to make my room more homey...... I think it turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself. :) And, now, if you will please draw your attention to the fabulous quilt that the pillow is on. That little beauty is the quilt I bought at Gardner Village last weekend. I could not leave the store without it. Initially I was going to do my room in brown and red, but once I saw this quilt my plans changed. I am super excited to keep working on little things in my room. How fun! :) I'll keep you updated.

A new life...

Well, I have worked at my new job for over a week now. It's a new experience, that's for sure. I have never felt so tender hearted at a work place before. I work with people who are fighting for their lives, and it's a bit overwhelming. Cancer is an ugly thing. It's heartbreaking to see what the Chemo treatments do to these sweet people, and yet it's helping them get better, so they get the treatments anyway. Cancer doesn't care if you are 2 or 92. It doesn't care if you have a family or not. It doesn't care if you are male or female. It doesn't care if you are rich or poor. Cancer is everywhere. I'm going to have to toughen up a bit to keep working in this office, because frankly, I get a sinking feeling every time I remember the little boy crying while getting blood drawn and then again while getting his chemo treatments. It's like a bad dream you really really want to wake up from. Even though I have only worked there for a week, this job has changed my life. These people I have met have touched my heart, and have helped slam me back into the reality of what is truly important in this life. People, not things, are the most important.
Life is sacred.
I pray for a world with no more cancer.

Owl City

Today I happened across a blog. Owl City's blog actually. Since I am rather fond of Owl City I started skimming through some of the posts. I was really impressed with Adam's (the singer) writing style. I read a couple entries and was also impressed with Adams candor about his belief in God and our Savior. Then I came to this post which really touched me....

I am grateful for those people who are in a postition of influence to large groups of people and who do not shy away from being an example for good, and who do not buckle under the pressure of the world. We need more people like this. I need to be more like this.
The world would be a better place.

The End And The Beginning

My externship is finished, my online class is done, and hopefully my diploma is in the mail! This is such a great feeling. I am really glad I 'walked' in July when I had family here, but it has just been in the last couple of weeks that I have really felt graduated. And I must admit, it feels really good! Hurrah!
Now, the real work begins. I have been trying to find a job so I can take care of myself. Wish me Luck!
