A few quotes that have made me smile of late:

So, I started brushing my teeth one night before going to bed. Everyone else was in bed and the lights were out. Instead of staying in the bathroom to brush my teeth I went back to my room to work on a bit of homework while I brushed. I like brushing my teeth for a long time. Anyway, I shut my bedroom door so that the light would not bother Amberlee and Autumn who were in the other room in bed. When I was done brushing I opened my bedroom door to go back to the bathroom. Standing, with her back to me and looking up at the door to Doug and Lydia's room, was Autumn. She startled me because I was not expecting to see her there, and I startled her because she knew she was supposed to be in bed. Her reaction cracked me up and I couldn't suppress my laugh. You would have laughed too if you saw her standing there with a shocked look on her face, trying to brush the hair out of her eyes, and wearing the cutest little pajamas. As I stood there laughing I could see Autumns little mind thinking through what had just happened. After a few seconds she put a hand on her hip, and used the other hand to point an accusing finger at me. Then with a very determined and set face she said "YOU should be in BED!!" I'm glad I didn't choke on my toothpaste from laughing!

Prayer of Saint Francis

This prayer was quoted in a talk given by M. Russell Ballard called The Peaceable Things of the Kingdom. While I am not, myself, very good with words, I feel very keenly the sweet words and desiring of this prayer. I am so grateful to my savior who has made it possible for me to learn and improve and become more than I am, through Him. Back at it

Well, I survived last semester and I got all A's while I was at it. I am back at it again this summer, but this semester is a little different because, well, it's my last semester of classes! Can I get a HOO RAH!?! :) I am very very excited!

I started the semester off learning about how to read and how to perform ECG's in my MA class. It's a little bit interesting. I've had plenty of them performed on me in my life, but it's odd being on the other end of them. Is it weird that I would rather stick someone with a needle than hook them up to a machine that doesn't hurt them at all? I mean honestly! What does that say about me? Okay, I promise I'm not that weird! I do think the ECGs are interesting and I think it is great that I get to learn how to perform them!

Life Lately...

My life this semester has basically consisted of school, school, and more school! I do occasionally find a little bit of time for sleep, but not much.
My Medical Assisting lab is by far my favorite class! I like it because it's a hands-on class. So far I've learned how to position patients, take blood pressure, give subcutaneous injections in the arm, intramuscular injections in the deltoid, thigh, and bum, and intradermal injections in the forearm. Most recently I learned how to draw blood, hence the pictures below. I have enjoyed doing everything, but my favorite has definitely been drawing blood. It's a pretty fun adventure!

Everyone in my class has had plenty of battle-wounds as a result of this class! But, I think we have also been pretty proud of them! :)

My Hat!

I needed something that I could work on, in what little free time I have these day's, that was not school related. So, I decided to try my hand at something I havn't done before; I crocheted a hat. Its certainly not perfect, but I think it turned out alright considering it was my first try. And, it has helped me stay grounded to have a little project to work on. I get so tired of doing homework all the time! :) Oh, well, such is the life of a student! :) .... Now I just need to think of another project I can start on!
