Doug and Lydias family is in town for Christmas and it is so fun having them here! They are staying at Kay and Bens while they are here, but Amberlee and Autumn are spending the night here tonight. We had a fun time and watched a cute little Barbie movie "The Princess and the Pauper" then we got the girls in jaamies and snuggled them in bed. The girls asked mom "does grandpa tell stories as good as daddy does?" Mom told them he did and then told them that he was going to tell them a story. This is how the story went as best as I remember it:
Dad: Once upon a time, in a far away land there live two princesses, and do you know what the names of those princesses were?
Amberlee: Was is it...Aurora?
Dad: Actually it was Princess Amberlee and Princess Autumn.
Amberlee: Oh! (whith a smile in her voice)
Dad: And they had a little brother who was a prince, his name was Prince Seth
Amberlee: (Giggling) I KNEW that one!
Dad: Well, one day Princess Amberlee and Princess Autumns parents, the king and queen, had to go out of town for a while...and so they entrusted the kingdom to Ambrelee and Autumn, knowing that they could trust their daughters.
Autmn: Where were their mom and dad?
Dad: The king and queen were the mom and dad.
Autumn: Oh... (sounding skeptical)
Dad: So, Amberlee and Autumn, being the sweet good princesses that they were, decided that while they were in charge, they wanted to do something very special for all of the subjects in the kingdom.
Amberlee: Really? What did they want to do?
Dad: They decided that they wanted to make cookies for everyone, to make everybody happy. And, they wanted to have a ball where everyone could come and enjoy the cookies and have a glass of milk. So they began working, they started making more cookies that you could even imagine!
Amberlee: Did Goo help? She makes the BEST cookies!
Autumn: Ya, Goo makes the Best cookies! We made cookies with her that one time, it was so much fun, and the cookies were so good... and, and, she said "you can't have a cookie" and I was sad... and...
Me: Hey! That's not fair! Autumn, I did give you a cookie, you should only remember how fun it was!
Dad: Anyway! Yes, I think Goo did help. You should have seen all the cookies they made. They made so many cookies that they had rooms full of cookies.
Amberlee: What kind of cookies did they make?
Dad: They made every kind of cookie you could ever imagine!
Amberlee: Chocolate chip?!?! (That's about the best I can imagine too!)
Dad: Mmhm, Chocolate chip, macadamia, sugar cookies, just every kind! Some even had Heath bars in them!
Amberlee and Autumn: Wow, that sounds yummy!
Dad: And, they had milk trucked in to the kingdom, in huge tankers that were temperature controlled so the milk stayed ice cold. And, the cookies were kept at the perfect nice warm temperature in each of the rooms so that they would taste like they just came out of the oven when they were eaten.
Every one in the kingdom came the ball and had a wonderful time! They dances and laughed and talked, and then, at the end, Princess Amberlee and Princess Autumn announced that they had a treat for everyone, and they brought out all of the cookies and all of the milk, and everyone enjoyed a cold glass of milk and a warm cookie, and some even dunked their cookie in their milk! It was a great success and everyone was very happy.
Amberlee: (sounding a bit concerned) Well, were the king and Queen there? Did they get a cookie too? And what about Seth?
Dad: Oh yes, they were all there, they got back in town right before the ball so they all got to eat a cookie too!
And, guess what? The party was such a success and so wonderful, that they pronounced that day a Cookie Holiday, to be celebrated every year!
Amberlee: Well, that seems fair! (sounding totally serious)
Mom, Dad, Me: (laughing) Yes, it does seem fair doesn't it?
So, that, was the story, as best as I can remember it. I know that there was a bit more to it than what I remember, because I know Autumn talked more than I quoted her... :). I wish I had been recording it, it was so cute and funny! Oh... and, I know dad mentioned in his story somewhere that some of the people at the ball were even doing the Double Dip, Double Dunk, Double Shlunk with their cookies and milk. That phrase, interestingly enough, actually makes complete and total sense to those in my family! :D
Anyway, I hope you are all having a very merry Christmas! I am truly grateful for this Christmas season that brings family close and joy to our hearts!
Merry Christmas!

Are You Fandue Too?
My good friend and old roommate Brittany is graduating from BYU-Idaho next week and she will be leaving Rexburg for good! I am going to miss her lots and lots. The first week that we were roommates we decided to have a fondue party so that we could get to know each other. We became great friends and have been great friends since. So, because Britt is leaving we decided to have a little fondue party. We decided that it made our friendship symmetrical... except that we are not going to stop being friends when she graduates. :) Anyone who knows Britt knows that she is the queen of the "nonsensical" words, SO, after I said that I was a fan of fondue she came up with this one..."Fandue." I like it, it's much more practical and time efficient to say one word than it is to say three.

Oh, the things that bring us joy!
So, I got an e-mail a couple of days ago from Sister Criman who is the head and teacher of the Medical Assisting program that I am starting next semester. The e-mail was sent to all those who would be starting Medical Assisting next semester, and it explained that the lab fee for the class would cover the blood pressure kits that we would be getting and reminded us that we needed to provide proof of Hep B vaccination before we could start. That was all good and interesting...but, my favorite part of the e-mail, the part that for some reason I got a bit of joy in reading, was the part that explained that we would need to purchase scrubs for the class...scrubs! I was pretty sure I would be needing them, but KNOWING that I needed them and that I would be wearing them, oddly enough, brought be a small bit of refreshing joy! I am so excited to get some cozy scrubs, and feel all professional, while I feel cozy...in my scrubs! :) Scrubs, are a good thing!
