Up, Up, and Away!!

Yesterday was a great day! Can you guess what I got to do? Here I'll give you a hint...

Getting all buckled up, and getting the low-down on the head phones.....

And we're off.....

AND... Guess who else got up the nerve to take a spin around the sky! That's right mom did! And, she loved it.

Mom and I were lucky enough to have this little adventure because Dad works with Richard Plant who owns this awesome aircraft. Dad has been up a few times already and really loves it. I'm glad Mom and I finally got on board (I just realized that is an awesome pun) so we could see what all the hub-bub was about.
I didn't really know what to expect. I had a rush of nerves at first just thinking about what I had agreed to, and then I just relaxed and decided I was going to enjoy myself. I loved it! Everything about it was awesome! It was the smoothest most relaxing ride ever. I don't remember my heart even taking one extra beat, that's how relaxed and safe I felt. And, if Mom can do it and say she loved it, then, seriously, anyone can do it. :)
To round off an already awesome day (I mean seriously, isn't flying enough awesomeness for more than one day?) we went up huckleberry picking. That is always fun and always worth the effort.
While driving up through the mountains we just happened to pass some kind of hound dog tracking contest going on. I felt like I had walked straight into Where the Red Fern Grows. It was so neat. As we drove a little further up the road mom jerked her head around and said: "There was a bear! Those dogs treed a bear!!" Dad threw the truck in reverse and drove back to see. Sure enough three hounds were going crazy at the base of a big tree with a black bear in it. Unfortunately, the bear was already dead and we soon realized that was the whole point of the contest. But, it sure was neat to see anyway.
Isn't it interesting how long you can go without experiencing anything really new or out of the ordinary? Then, just in the course of one totally unplanned day, you can find yourself flying through the sky held up by a parachute, and later look out a window and witness the world of hound dog bear tracking? Some people will never get to say they have done or seen those things.......... :)
